How to not feel sleepy

Drowsiness

Feeling sleepy is an ailment that affects many people irrespective of circumtance. Continuing lethargy and imability to focus make daily activites time-consuming and difficult to enjoy. Rather than suffering from frowsiness the whole day, take a step to improve your mental clarity and concentration.

1. Drink Lots of Water

Drinking water regularly throughout the day helpd prevent sleepiness. Fatigue and lethargy are often caused by simple dehydration. Start your morning with a glass of water and continue drinking throughout the day to fight off drowsiness.

2. Don't Forget to Eat Breakfast

Push yourself to wake up early and take time to eat a complete breakfast. This kickstarts your metabolism and provides essential nutrients to energize you throughout the day.

3. Eat Frequently

Instead of sticking to three large meals, try eating 5 - 7 smaller meals during the day. This helps maintain stable sugar levels and provides a steady supply of nutrients and vitamins to keep you focused.

4. Exercise more often

When mid-afternoon drowsiness hits, moving around can feel difficult. But adding just 10 minutes of physical activity to your daily routine can reduce exhaustion and make a noticeable difference in your energy levels.

5. Get Vitamin D

Exposure to sunlight boosts vitamin D levels, which are essential for energy. If the weather is good, take short breaks outdoors to recharge.

6. Adjust your Caffeine Intake

Drinking more than 2-3 cups of coffee won't increase energy and can disrupt sleep later in the day. Limit caffeine to 2-3 cups, and avoid consuming it after noon to prevent jittery side effects and nighttime restlessness.

7. Regulate your Sleep Cycle

Go to bed at the same time every night and wake up at the same time every morning. A consistent sleep schedule trains your body to rest properly and reduces daytime drowsiness.
